For my son's 10th birthday he asked for scuba lessons. Kids are required pass the same tests as the adults do to receive their PADI scuba certification. Although my son loves the water, I was concerned that he would not be able to complete all the water & classroom requirements. I am proud to say that my son did an EXCELLENT job on his classroom testing. Unfortunately, my son did hit a little snag with clearing his mask underwater, but because of the patience and encouragement provided by his instructor, he overcame that issue with no troubles. Today my son received his PADI Junior Open Water Scuba certification after making multiple dives at Fantasy Lake throughout the weekend. Although I am so proud of all the work & effort my son put into this, I’m certain he would not have accomplished what he did without his WONDERFUL instructor, Dan Potter, at Down Under Surf & Scuba in Raleigh (www.downunderscuba.com ). I can’t say enough about what a great instructor he is and how much my son & my family think of this man. Any future scuba classes anyone in my immediate family takes will definitely be led by Mr. Potter. If any of you are considering taking up scuba in the near future … you should consider giving Mr. Potter a call.
