One person is dead after a traffic accident in Clayton, authorities said.

Authorities said the two-car accident occurred at around noon near the intersection of Little Creek Church and Hood Farm roads.

Officials have closed Little Creek Church Road to traffic as crews work to clear the wreckage. There is no word as to when the road will reopen.

WRAL showed a helicopter view. One vehicle was covered up. The other vehicle was a small FedEx van.

Seems like a lot of repetitiveness here lately. Fatal car accidents, hit and runs, violent crimes, etc.

Clayton Man Killed After Car Strikes FedEx Truck - The Highway Patrol has identified a driver killed Wednesday after his car collided with a FedEx truck. It happened on Hood Farm Road near Clayton. The Highway Patrol said 53-year-old Bertram Satterfield of Clayton was near his home when he lost control of his 1999 Hyundai, which then crossed the centerline and struck the FedEx truck head on. Satterfield died at the scene. The driver of the truck, David Fuquay, 38, of Clayton and a passenger, were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

I had a package on that truck and they delivered it today beaten and battered.
they could have lost it if it would have meant everyone would have been fine.

I say slap 'em with a ticket and when the mom/dad has to pay for it. Maybe they'll take the car away and teach these kids a lesson. Or no TV, or they have to volunteer, or no cell phone.

Parents need to be more involved. Be a PARENT NOT THEIR FRIEND!!!

I remember the very first speeding ticket I got, OMG I thought mom and dad were going to kill me. I had to pay for court costs (I was a day care teacher at the time), and all privelidges were taken away for a month. Didn't get another speeding ticket until I was out on my own (20's)

I live on Little Creek Church Road and can tell you that most drivers are speeding much of the time. With the new bypass construction, we have also had problems with the huge trucks speeding and taking the curves too fast. The speed limit posted is 55 for most of the road but people pass me in areas passing is not allowed doing at least 65. Even the stretch of road that is 45 (the result of a teen and another driver losing their lives in that area) is a joke; most people are doing at least 60. This is a very dangerous road because of all of the curves and with more and more homes being built out our way the problem is getting worse. I think if the sherrif or state patrol just devoted a few weeks of parking along the road and handing out the inevitable tickets it may deter these careless people from taking more lives.
