I'm sorry I do not know anyone but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not do it yourself if you have small children. When my youngest was an infant I restored some antiques I inherited. I was very careful and very aware of lead exposure. I STILL exposed my child to lead. Fortunately, his level was no higher than 18 (No fear of learning disabilities until 30 or so) but it took 4 years to get out of his system. We would have blood drawn every 3 months and would only see it come down a point or so at a time. It was heartbreaking. It actually gets into their bone as well as their blood. I wish you luck in finding someone to do it for you but I wanted to warn you (and anyone else reading) through my experience.

Neither did I. He's nine now and no lasting effects. He went to the doctors so much he doesn't flinch for anything...shots etc. I guess that is a blessing.

I used to help my parents refinish stuff years ago when I was young (read early 80s) and the funriture we would buy to refinish would be from the 30's to the 50's. never had any adverse affect on my (or perhaps that is why I am like I am  )

There is a lady I forgot her name but its the sister of the owner(Dana) at D.Christies hair cutting salon in front of DR Wells Imporium. Her sister did a great job with our dresser and its very old. She only does some furniture during the summer due to her teaching job she has little time. Give it a try!
