I was wondering if anyone out here had any experience w/ Special education services outside of Johnston County? We are planning on moving as our childrens' needs are not being met here. In addition, we have a deaf son that will go to kindergarten but we don't want him bussed to the Deaf School in Wilson. Does anyone know of any deaf schools in Raleigh?? I know there is stuff in Chapel Hill but that is well out of our price range. Anyone have experience w/ Orange County, Chatham County or Granville County schools in regards to Special Education Services? We ahve been told to stay away from Wake County. Told by the head of special services there that the waiting list is 2000 people long for transition services. Our daughter is 14 and we have to take this into consideration as well...transition services. I know there is good and bad in every county. And good and bad at every school though some will ademently deny that they are ONLY good 100% of the time---LOL. I'd love to hear others experiences in other counties...the good, the bad and the ugly of it all. This is a huge decision our family is making, complicated by the fact that there are 7 special needs children, have to be close to a hospital, have to be close to a deaf school, and have not a very high housing price range to work with. I am wondering if there is a county we haven't thought of yet that may be an option for us. Thanks in advance. Any resources you ahve to find information would be wonderful as well. Have a great weekend. Stephanie.
