Has anyone ever gotten a response from Career Builder.com?

My Husband has been looking for work, and has been applying to lots of places on this website.

He has been working with his brother painting here and there, but there is not enough work to pay anything.

So far we have not heard anything even though there are tons of ads stating that they are hiring.
    Is this typical?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help...8)

I have had no success with careerbuilder as well. I believe that Careerbuilder is also the same as triangle help wanted as their formats are similar and that they list the same jobs, in the same descriptions. Just the name is different.

Nope, me neither. The only thing I have gotten contaced about it basially door to door sales of insurance and when I talk to the people, definitly something not for me. Other than that, nothing. I have applied for tons of jobs there also (resume is even posted there, so guess that is where the door to door sales things are coming from.

Yes I have my resume posted there also and I have had absolutly NO SUCCESS using either Monster or Careerbuilder in my job search. I have had better luck with at least getting referrals from the NC Job Bank website.

    dang.

I will see what that website has to say. Thanks guys.
It is tough due to the fact that my DH is in the automotive industry
but has a difficult time with the mechanic side of it.
His hands, knees, and back can't take it anymore.
He has done management a lot though.
It is just VERY hard to find anything right now.

Good luck to those also looking for work..

Sorry you could not find any leads. I feel your pain. Does he know how to hang sheetrock? I looked at a job recently to hang sheetrock for a fellow 4042er and could possibly tackle it when I heal depending on if I can get someone who can help me hang the sheetrock. Won't be for a few weeks. I've got to heal some more and after that I have other stuff I need to complete and then maybe I could roll on this one.

I think so. I am not sure I haven't seen him do it.
Although he can do many things I did not know about...

He is kind of a Jack of all trades...

Has he tried Triple A? I know they are hiring and are going to be opening more stores this year. My brother works for them and my sister applied for Service writer (she has no prior experience), but passed it up for another job offer. Service Writers make very good money, at least my brother did when he did it. My brother did Head Mechanic, Shop Manager and Service writer, but found her liked working on the cars more. So he is back to the Head Mechanic.

Might want to check them out.

The job that I'm in now (legal assistant) was actually posted on careerbuilder.com. I did find that some places didn't acknowledge my applying but several did. My husband has found just the opposite - no acknowledgement or he gets spam e-mail re similar jobs, one company actually said he was qualified and to click the link to submit further info and when he did, it was a survey. Discouraging.

I have had this happen to..not from careerbuilder, but from a job I say on craigslist. I had to enter my email before I could go any further and now I am getting spam email. Ticked me off big time. I hate it when someone decides to take advantage of people that are looking for a job to fill their email box up with spam. Did what I just said make any sense? Oh well, tired, so....

Friend I know husband got laid off after being an automotive mechanic for 25 years. Found a job immediately at a new automotive parts store as Assistant store manager. Frame mama, has he looked at all the automotive part stores also?

The job I just started last week was the result of responding to a position posted on Career Builder. They did send my resume to the company I am now working for. I have to believe that hundreds, if not, people respond to ads so companies have many to sort through.
