I am looking for a place to hunt deer in the area. If you know of any landowners that would be willing to lease the hunting rights on their land, please send me an email. I am willing to pay reasonable lease rates and help with property maintenance. I am a responsible hunter and I can provide references, if needed. Small tracts of land are OK.

Good luck - we are extremely lucky with the tracts we hunt on. Keep asking everyone you know and soon enough, someone will say yes - kill them all.

Would you travel to Greene County? There's a hunting club downthere and they are loosing 2 of their members, we are not going to go that far to hunt, let me check and see if they are still looking for 2 people. It was a reasonable price. I"ll PM you in a few days, once I find out.

I'm already in a great club in Halifax Co., but it takes 1:15 to get there. So, the only time I can hunt is Saturday...if I'm lucky. I want to have a spot closer to home...say 30 min drive or less from the house. I have heard of a Cleveland Hunting Club. Does anybody know anything about it?

There is game land on hwy 751 off 64. Saturday's are BUSY! Drove by on the way to work and some guy had a doe, it was about 1:30 ish.

If you can get in during the week it would be better for you off 751.

I'll keep my ears open for a fellow deer hunter.

Do you process your own or farm it out?

I usually process my own. I bought a small electric grinder for $30. Its slow, but grinds meat just fine. As a matter of fact, I just got finished grinding a batch.

we send ours to the butcher to be packaged and cut in all sorts of peices and parts and marked accordingly. DF is in WV for two weeks, as we speak, called earlier this day to tell me it was snowing....and he was looking at about 4 huge turkey's.

FYI, if you don't "tag" watch what you post ;) ;) ;) ;)

    Good for you!

We have a dehydrater, our friend has the 1. (something) HP grinder, so we grind our meat at his house and dehydrate what they want for jerkey!

    I can't wait!

Very cool! My BIL did ducks and some foxes for a while, but didn't have time for it.

I see you got an albino deer. Our friend has a full mount and it's all white. I had never seen one before.

Just a bump to the top. I am still looking for land to hunt on in the area. I am willing to pay a fair price for a lease and will help with the land.

Hwy 64 & 751 on the game land is about all I can suggest right now. If you go during the week, no one's out there - Saturday's - IT'S PACKED! We've been in your shoes before, when we lived down in Wilmington DH went into the Green Swamp in Bolivia - got his biggest out there in the swamp - a 12 pt.
