I was thinking about carrying my son there before school starts back, especially since its local and wouldn't require a long drive and/or an overnight stay. I know where it is at, but was wondering if anyone on here had any input about the place. It sounds like it has more to do for kids than Adventure Landing on Capital, although we've had fun there, too. I was just looking for something different to do. Anybody been there?
We had a blast!!!!! Both boys always ask to go back. It is pretty pricey though. Alot of the games are $1 each and up, the ones my son liked were $2, $3 each! The biggest problem I have had is a lot of the Big features are closed at odd times. Maybe during the summer it is better, but during the school year, during the day, they had several of the bigger attractions closed. (check the website??) But we give it a thumbs up! (even if we cant afford to go there on a regular basis!)
My son is anxious to drive SOMETHING and I had saw on their website that they had go-karts for those 48" and over. That is the main draw for going there. We can play miniature golf or play video games at Adventure Landing. However, I think he'd probably be interested in some of the rides and the big spider web thingy. Thanks for the input.
Frankie's is great fun for the kids... Take your wallet though, you will need it. The odd thing is, there is an adult style restaurant in the corner of the place and they have a bar. Guess it's fun for the adults while the kids go play...
We went a long time ago and it seems like my children were too short at the time to do most of the "cool" stuff. Fun Werks (or whatever it's called now) in Cary has more for the shorter crowd.
A bar and an arcade is great fun if they have OLD SCHOOL games. I used to go to "the Blue Bassoon" on Hillsborough, then to "Kings barcade" back in tha day, and always had a blast. My problem with arcades now is that all the games are lousy, and they never have a pinball machine.
I agree on both points. It's a great place for the kids...they even have batting cages, but it IS quite pricey indeed. If your kids normally "dollar you to death" (LOL!) I wouldn't recommend it. I think we spent nearly $400 in the 4 hours we spent there. (My kids are so spoiled.) It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us. We probably could've actually went to an amusement park like Carowinds or Busch Gardens for the money we spent. They have asked to go back, but we'd like to keep our pocketbooks at least half-full the next place we try..LOL!
Good lord....I ain't about to sell my soul to Frankie for him to have a modestly fun afternoon. I'll just avoid that place like the plague. Adventure Landing sounds fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thanks.
It's not too bad...I went some time back. It can be a little pricey depends if you eat there or not too. I know we (Adults no kids of gaming age) spent at least $40.00 on games not including the Go-carts and laser tag. If you set a budget you can still do it and have a great time. We also went to adventure landing the other week and we had coupons.. BOGO on go-carts and laser tag...and when you bought the go-carts or laser tag tickets you got another coupon for 60tokents for $10.00...Adventure Landing works well for me....and a shorter drive too..
