So you see, a few months ago, we got a puppy. This was our first mistake. No, that's wrong, our first mistake was going to just "look" at the puppy. The second mistake was bringing it home. She's a very sweet, energetic girl, but we've had to learn the hard way that a puppy is just not right for our family right now. We need to wait until Little Bit is a little older, and we need a dog with a little age on her. As much as it breaks my heart, and it's killing Mini Me, we've got to find Zoey another home. What is happening isn't fair to her, or to us. She's crated all day, and spends most of her evenings gated in the kitchen. She sleeps well in the crate and is really trying to get the potty training down, but her little bladder will only hold so much. She's hyper and loves to play, and has been raised around our two cats. One of them hates her and hisses everytime she walks into a room, and the other one ignores her. Zoey tries to mount the cat, I guess to try to get her to play, and it makes the kitty unhappy to say the least. She's a shih-tzu/poodle mix. She's going to be a small-medium size dog. She was born on Feb 12th, and I've personally given her all her puppy shots, and wormed her. The next step will be to have her spayed and to get her rabies vacination. She'll go to her new home with her crate, a plethera of toys, her bowls and a huge bag of food. I'm going to ask a "re-homing/adoption" fee, or whatever you want to call it, of $100 to assure me that whoever takes her home can and will properly care for her. And I'm not giving her to just anyone, I will be conducting interviews. She's just fine where she is for right now, and I'm in no hurry. I want to make sure she finds the right home. She's very good with Little Bit, but I'm honestly more afraid that Little Bit is going to hurt her, than the other way around. If you think you might be interested, please send me a PM and we'll chat about it.
Man - I wish I could talk my DH into it, my DD's been wanting a little dog (and me too) - but he doesn't want anymore pets. We're down to two pets and one child and he don't want nothin else to feed and take care of ('cempt me of course).
Aww man...I shouldn't have looked  My hubby would kill me if I asked!! I'm sorry it isn't working out and I hope you find a great home for her that you are comfortable with.
I'll have to see if I can get a cord to upload pics from the camera... She's all black, except for a few white tips here and there.
My MIL has been looking for a small dog ever since Lacy died. Lacy was a pom, but I think I remember her saying she was looking for a ****zu or poodle mix, I will ask her. If you can, post a pic I can email her.
The cord to my camera isn't available, so therefore, I can't upload a pic. Grr She has the body shape of a shih-tzu, the face of a poodle, and her hair is meduim-long and curly. She's black all over with white accents around her face, paws, belly, and the tip of her tail.
Does she shed at all? Potty trained yet? Can i see a picture? Might be good for my bother as their dog just passed away and they had a small one Thanks!
Wow, Jen, she looks and awful lot like my new baby. Check out my pics in the meet the new pup thread. A little longer hair than mine, but what a cutie!!
She's such a good girl. Someone came last night and looked at her, but then decided that they didn't want a puppy. Hello? What part of the word puppy did you not understand???
If I didn't already have 3 dogs, I would take her, but right now have my hands full with what I got. I will keep my ears open though.
Jennifer, did you find a home for her? I was at my vet's office on Friday and there was a young woman holding a puppy that looked just like yours. She had a young boy with her though, not a girl, so I don't think it was you.
OMG Jen, that baby is adorable, I will copy and email that pic to my MIL and see what she says. I will let ya know shortly.
Zoey went home with her new Mama and Daddy, and big (dog) sister this afternoon. I feel confident that they're the right home for her! She loved her new big sister! Thanks guys!
