I heard noaa say something about patch smoke from "fires across the region." I definitely see it, but i havent smelt it for some odd reason.
Yeah, its the Myrtle Beach fires. Weather forecast causes for the winds to take the smoke north and northwest of North Myrtle Beach. I was down in Sampson County this morning and there's hazy smoke close to the ground across the fields down there. It'll probably be getting worse today and tomorrow.
DH was down at Oak Island all week working and he said the smoke was really bad there from the fires.
now you know why I love it too! It's the best kept secret ever. And some of the best food down there too, at the most unsuspecting places.
can't remember the name but there is a place we go that has the best Carolina Bucket, actually was the first time i had ever had one several years ago. And i love riding the ferry, everytime we are there i have to make up some excuse to have to go ride the ferry:lol:
my favorite place to eat is Turtle Island. They have the best Shrimp and Grits on the planet...no lie. And the Tipsy Turtle (the house drink Barcardi 151, pineapple and midori) has your name written all over it.
after crossing over the bridge onto the island, once you turn right onto the main drag, it's on the right, just before you get to Food Lion ....little white building.
right across from the beverage barn! I think it's 62nd street.... what street is the house on? will you be down on a weekend? if so, you need to let me know....:cheers:
not sure what street it is on, it is one block back from the main road, will have to ask DH, he is usually the one driving when we go and yep it will be on a weekend just not sure which yet.
