School closed? Their libraries locked up for the summer? Have you considered the local library?

We are seeking a sponsor to reward the neighborhoods' dedicated readers. Forms will be available at the library on Monday July 12.

Cleveland Children's Library has 14,000 books and a librarian (MLS from UNC-CH) overseeing the growth and organization of the collection. The video collection is larger than 3 of North Carolina's county systems. The library's collection has 80,000 books and videos and is the second largest of Johnston County's libraries serving the public. It is the largest private library collection in North Carolina.

The library is an all community volunteer project, receiving 1,000 donated books weekly from local residents, libraries around the country, local bookstores and Internet businesses, authors, publishers, and schools. Purchased books arrive from sources like Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Scholastic. The library, currently open 15 hours weekly, is scheduled to start 32 hour weeks on July 12.

Volunteers are needed to keep the books circulating and more going on the shelves.
