I am looking to buy the house I am in since I currently rent and I would like to know if anyone knows of any good contractors. I am looking to do some improvements on the house after I buy it (garage, extra room, etc, etc) and need a good contractor to give me a decent estimate and possibly do the work.

    Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

you might try woodwise in raleigh. we had excellent experience with them. you will pay for quality, but we've been very satisfied and would use them again.

David Doucet....he did a great job remodeling our kitchen and bath and adding an upstairs laundry room. Reasonably priced and a hard worker....he does the work as opposed to "supervising" the people who do the work...868-0695

I recommend Billy Balance who owns:

    BASELINE REPAIR AND CONSTRUCTION
    919-795-7625
    baselinebilly@nc.rr.com
    www.baselinerepairservice.com

He did some interior work for us in the last few weeks and he did some work with my husband's company. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the price. He is also a really nice guy. I am hoping to talk hubby into a new back porch and we will be calling Billy for that as well.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and PM's. I appreciate it. If there are any more, please pass them along. We are looking at buying our home after the first of the year and want to move on this as soon as we do. We want to add on a garage, extra bedroom, expand the living room and one bedroom, add on a seperate dining room and a patio. I also need a storage shed built out back. This old, run down metal shed has got to go! I know it's alot but we like the area and the neighborhood and we have an acre of land in a subdivision! How rare is that? The schools are great, the area is quiet and it's still close enough to stores and Raleigh that I don't have to go past the sticks to get home.
