About the light cycles at 40/42. They are ridiculous!!

It is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to turn left onto Glen Rd. coming from Cleveland School Rd. on 42. The traffic backs up into all of the intersections because all of the lights are red at the same time.

I'm sure you all can relate.

They need to add a green arrow for those turning left onto Glen Rd. at the very least.

    Thanks!

It helps to post on 40/42 Discussion Board. Did you not know that all the authorities are monitoring this discussion board?

The head of Division 4 (Johnston Co.) is Mr. Richard (Ricky) Greene, P.E. (He is the Division Engineer)

His contact info is as follows:

    Highway Division 4
    509 Ward Blvd.
    PO Box 3165
    Wilson, 27895

    Phone Number & Email

    (252)237-6164
    RGreene@dot.state.nc.us

Very nice guy! I got his contact info from a friend because I was having issues with the intersection of Mechanical Blvd (whatever it's call over on the Mc Donalds side) turning left onto Hwy 42 to get onto I40 in the mornings.

    Hope this helps!

I think the real problem there is that they have to get the traffic exiting from I-40 to keep moving, which makes it almost literally impossible to turn left onto Glen Rd coming from Cleveland Rd. I always turn in on Technology Dr. myself, but as Ken said, there are other ways to get in there. I'm afraid the only real solution to the problem would involve building a right turn lane on 40, extending at least a mile or so before the exit. Last night at 5:30, traffic on 40 came to a dead stop 0.6 mile before the exit, in the right hand travel lane.

There was wreck in the east bound lanes, in the const. zone. We were headed to the Canes game and traffic was backed up past the white oak exit! Glad we were headed in the opposite direction! :)
