I hope everyone is ok. When I passed through, the owner of the used car lot was out with flailing arms because the personal fire vehicles were blocking his business.....at least that's what I got from all the pointing and gesturing.

I was afraid that some of the wild ladies on here had a wild night at Cleveland Draft House and were a little too smokin' hot for the place.

There was no wreck. A power line was knocked down on Hwy 42 between 50 and the Drafthouse. When I ask the fireman to park his personal truck anywhere on the lot but in the driveway he told me he was to busy and didn't have time to mess with me so I moved it myself so a customer could turn onto the lot, as the firemen were telling them they couldn't turn in.The fireman then flaged down a passing state trooper to tell him I got in his truck and moved it and the state trooper told the fireman he should park his truck on the right of why so he didn't block any drive ways.I can see how confused they must have been with six fireman trying to do the job of one officer(one couldn't figure out what the other one was going to do next). And thats the way it was!

I could tell you were upset and had every right to be! I would have been pretty ticked as well if my business was blocked.

You sell any cars during that time? I mean was the street even open for people to come on to the lot? It sounds like you made a spectacle for no reason. Maybe the line of cars to get on to the lot was a mile long and there was good reason for it. Yeah, that's it. I think you're lucky that firefighter didn't beat the tar out of you for messing with his vehicle. Especially when he was on a call for something as dangerous as a downed power line. I bet if that line was causing you to lose business you wouldn't have given a rip where they parked as long as it got fixed.

But the firefighter should not have parked his POV in the man's driveway. It would have taken 3 more seconds to park on the side. Most firefighters aren't allowed to drive their POV's to a call unless they are a chief or an officer.

I disagree with this....the man is trying to run a business and the world doesn't stop because of a downed line.

VollyGirl maybe you didn't read the whole post, the down power line was a half a mile down the road and the whole issue was a customer was trying to turn on the lot to look at buying a car. As far as the fireman that should have beat tar out of me, I don't think none of his other fire buddys were willing to help him so thats why he didn't go that route.Plus this is not the first time the lights have gone out at 50/42. It normally take one officer to handle traffic, not six firemen.
