What to do when your child has missed too many days in the 9 weeks of school? My DS had the flu last month and missed his 4 days and the school nurse called yesterday and said he was complaining of a sore throat and cough but he felt OK and did not have a fever. When I got home at 5:00, his temp was 103 and was again this morning. If I take him to school, they are just going to send him home again so I am not sure what to do. Anyone know? Guess I need to call the principal and take him to the doc but does anyone know what the process is for dealing with the school board?

If you have doctor's notes, be sure to give the school a copy. You will have to appeal his absences with the principal of the school. Each school handles this a little differently...sometimes an Assistant Principal is in charge of this.

As long as they are excused absences, you should be okay. If you have doctors notes, be sure and keep a copy for yourself, and send one to school. That will be enough for them.
