Hello All, I have an odd question, My family is moving out of this area, and I am not sure which area we are going to ultimately end up in, but I am trying to figure out where there are some good schools other than Johnston County. This county is wonderful and we have loved it but we have to move, and I want the best for my kids. Anyone know which schools are even comparable (sp?) to Johnston County? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are leaning toward either Raleigh near Leesville or Wake Forest. Opinions would be really helpful, thanks ya'll. Brooke
If you're moving up towards WF, my cousin lives in Youngsville and her kids are at Rolesville. She seems to like it.
Brooke, As a lifelong resident of N. Wake Co./Wake Forest area, I'll put in a "thumbs up" for this area. My daughter goes to North Raleigh Christian Academy, which is an awesome, awesome, school. Here's the link for NRCA: http://www.nrcaknights.com/ They're located off Capital Blvd just north of I-540, on Perry Creek Rd, which runs between Capital and US401/Louisburg Rd. Snag a copy of The Wake Weekly, it comes out on stands each Wed. night. This is an award-winning local paper, and it will have alot of local info for you. Here's their link: http://www.wakeweekly.com/ KR
I don't mean to leave you guys Ready... I will miss Johnston County terribly. I am hoping that my new neighbors don't have too much of a problem with my pups. Because they can kiss my foot on that one! My babies are coming or I'm not going!!!
Hate to hear you are leaving a home you really love. :-( Something to keep in mind if you are considering any area in Wake county. Don't choose an area of Wake County based on the school...because there is a very high chance your kids will be attending a school that is not your neighborhood school. If you choose Wake county, base it on the home and neighborhood because you love the home and neighborhood. What school your kids attend will depend on what whims hit the school board each year - and it can very well change from year to year.
Another thing to consider with Wake County is the possibility of year round schools, or worse... Can you imagine anything as ridiculous as that?
We did split shifts in NY. I was in elementary school, and I had the early shift, but my older brother and sister had the second shift. I think I remember us eating lunch at home together and then it was their time to catch the bus. It was messed up!
I hear upstate new york is a good area. or how about west by god virginia....woooooooooohoooooooooooooo lol j/k I was serious about the ny thing
There is no way I would move into the Wake County School district right now. It seems like things are just going crazy there right now!
Maybe she meant upstate NY is a good area because they're all moving here. I'm thinking of moving there myself for the same reason.
Hmmmm... That's a darn good idea, Josey. My gramma's got about 12 acres, and she's lonely. "Oh, Gramma........."
DANG what is your problem. You must be from w va. anyway I was serious about the ny thing.. I have in laws in w.va, so what is the big deal. I was cracking a joke. Dont get your panties in a wad.... ugh....why dont you delete your post....for taking mine so serious when clearly I was joking. Did you think it said va? because It didnt, that wouldnt be funny at all, but look closer, it says w, va. I am trying to figure out why you got so mad. oh well, cant please everyone. sorry if you were offended.
WAke county is just horrible for schools. THrow everything else out of the arguement and you still are left with a district that believes in 1960's style bussing. I use to live there. Wake Forest - lot of really uppity rich kids - IMO Ha HA - about NY schools - I happen to love'em but I am not there anymore. I moved to JoCo because there schools are really great and so are the people. HA HA - about West Virginia....my new BF is from really rural WV and he is smarter then a lot of people i know and definately more well read. Yes i know you were kidding........
The one Wake County School we have looked at is Leesville Elementary, and they are going year round after this summer, not crazy about that. At All. Dont want to leave the state, my step kids are here, and lots of family. UGH!!!! This Bites. Too many choices
I apologize Sorry. I have changed reply. When I read "how about west by god virginia....woooooooooohoooooooooooooo lol j/k" I must have been half asleep. I was thinking that Va. Tech nickname was Wahoos and you had stretched it out. I now realize the University of Virginia are the Wahoos and Virginia Tech are the Hokies. Obviously I am not very good with University nicknames. Please accept my apology. PS I am not from West Virginia
