A few months ago I was called about a Maltese needing rescued. He had been acquired from another breeder and was paralyzed from the waist down. Thing was, the breeder that had acquired him had 8-10 other small breeds. The males has about a 4x4 fenced area and the females had round about 12x12. Keep in mind, she had acquired all of these dogs within a 2-3 month time frame exclusively for breeding purposes. As I left she asked me, "If your rescue happens to come across and purebreds like I have here (Shih Tzu, Poodle, etc.) and they have papers, I'll give them a home and breed them." Now, do you think for one second she'd be approved for adoption? I think not.
