Town of Clayton Planning Board agenda for Tuesday night, May 29 has a Special Use Permit Application for Ashley Furniture. A 110,000 Sq. Ft. building. 20,000 SF Showroom, 10,000 SF Office and 80,000 SF Warehouse. Number of employees at full shift expected to be 100. 152 parking spaces. Will be built on South side of Hwy 70 East. Right before Hardee Lane. This is the private drive for Red Barn Nursery before . Anyone familiar with Ashley Furniture? Quality of furniture, reputation, etc? This is interesting. Jones Brothers closes operations in Johnston County and Ashley opens retail store. Evidently this is the type of operation that Jones Brothers could not compete with.
There was one where I used to live. The place was huge and customer service was poor at best (from what I heard). Never found anything I liked there despite the thousands of sq.feet. Prices, meh.
they have a store located right off capital behind triangle town center mall. i actually like their furniture but i don't know if the quality and price match. from what i've been told their furniture is considered high quality.
medium quality , 5 to 7 years. very little wood, all made overseas which is not necessarily bad. customer service and pricing varies from franchise to franchise. the one in Raleigh and Durham has such a crappy pay system they can't keep quality employees and their service was abysmal.
I stopped in the one at TTC over x-mas. Nice furniture but expensive. Wasn't quite sure it was really worth what they were selling it for.
asheley's allows their franchisees to sell at three different pricing tiers. the one at TTC, also durham and fayetteville, owned by the same guy, are at the highest point. you can go to the one in henderson and get exactly the same thing cheaper.
If you really want a good deal on furniture, there is a furniture company in Farmville VA that sells for almost half of what even Target sells it for. We have a few acres outside of town and looked around yeasterday after we checked on the progress on the greenhouse. They had a New River glider for ~$300.00 that Target sells for ~$500.00. The furniture takes up almost the whole town. Something like a dozen buildings and some buildings are old factory laylouts with four floors and they are packed with furniture. We watched people with trailers behind their vehicles and those bringing in U-hauls with them loading furniture for a couple of hours. http://www.greenfront.com/ourstory.html
Did you see the prices at Jones Bro's? WOW! Whitley Gallery Furniture in Zebulon is where I got some stuff for the house.
Clayton Furniture Outlet on Main Street in Claiyton has good furniture including Ashley Furniture at a good price. I bought a lot of furniture there and was happy with my experience there. The manager Carole was wonderful and very helpful. (919) 550-5255 | 421 E Main St Clayton, NC Jen
Personally, I would not buy a thing from them. A woman who works in my office purchased a leather living room set from them in January. They had to come out 4 times to replace the furniture because of numerous defects. The last time they brought the replacement sofa, it had a huge tear in the front and someone had tried to repair it with tape and the same color sharpie pen to hide it. They finally told them to come pick their crap up and take them off the defered payment plan. It was a huge mess! No quality control whatsoever!
Watch the Badcock up at 4042, they were selling the same model TV I own for $600 more that I saw it at Best Buy.
