I know there was a thread about this, but I can't find it using the search engine.

What's the approximate cost to have someone cut down a couple of big pines in our yard? What's usually done with the wood, and does the homeowner have the option of selling it?
Can anyone recommend any good companies that won't try to jerk you around?

    Thanks!

Just a few weeks ago we had a very large oak cut down. It was $650 for the one tree. You get to keep the wood if you want. We didn't but did end up keeping the mulch chippings from it. I think it was Tim Hicks. He was great! Knows his stuff. Have to double check the name and get back to you. He came highly recommended by folks on here and see why now. Good luck.

We talked the guy down to $235/pine tree, which included stump grinding; price was cheaper as he kept trees to logging company. I won't recommend him only because of some things that happened to our neighbors and friends of friends - he kept asking for money ahead of time and then would take forever to do the job. I mentioned this on another thread - not sure where your trees are located but if they are within 35 feet from the center of the road, the state maintains that. We had a huge tree that split into five trunks - state deemed it dangerous and had it down two days after I called.
