DH and I are dog-sitting my MIL's dog, a 5 yr old Besinji mix. Great female dog, neutered, but she is scared to death of thunder, fireworks, etc. We have to follow what my MIL says, and that is that she gives her dog a benadryl when the dog starts trembling (and MIL hears thunder as well). Is there anything we can do? This poor dog has been trembling in our home since 3pm today. She won't go out to do her business...nothing. ??? (BTW, we've had the dog since last Wed, and she was fine until the 4th fireworks started - but we already had her sedated with the Benadryl).
