Is any one going to Battle of the Bands in downtown Clayton tonight at 7pm? Sounds like fun! http://downtownclayton.blogspot.com/2008/08/sept-18-battle-of-bands-lineup.html
I've never been, but it sounds great! Gonna have a few cold ones and enjoy the cooler weather! Cheers!
The weather was so nice for this last night. I was a little disappointed with the lack of the bands playing. Seemed like there was a lot of 'down' time between sets. What did everyone else think of it?
i left after the first 2 son was bored and thought the same thing it was less band and more talk and i really didnt like that. i noticed the switch will be there the 25th
I agree with you on that. It was very unorganized as far as the band set up went. We didn't stay past the 2nd band. It seems they were having some technical problems. More talk than music... there was a great turn out; too bad they had so much trouble getting it together.
I agree with you Hides and Normal. All that talk, ugh. After the first few minutes of someone talking, I tuned them out and don't even know what they were talking about anymore. The highlight of the night was watching my 4 yr old dance around and bump into this big tall dude, the look on her face looking up at him it was priceless.
It was a "Battle of the Bands", hence more than one band playing, actually 4 or 5. The down time between sets was to allow each band time to get their equipment off the stage after they played, and on the stage before their set. With a common PA system, seems like it could of gone a little smoother and took less time, but what do I know?!!! Each band only performed 3 songs, (about 15 minutes) which is probably why it seemed like so long between sets. If they had played 30-45 minutes each I think the percption would have been different. All that being said, I had a great time! The bands were all good. Hip Sauce played last, and the crowd had thinned out pretty good by then, but MAN!!!, CAN WENDY WAIL!!! Great job from all the bands, and overall a great thing for downtown C-Town, a town I love calling HOME !!!
Yep, Wendy is awesome! I wish I had been patient enough to hang around and listen. I'll go see em next time they're at Barmuda in Clayton. Who won?
