Help? Looking for an ocean front room, with a whirlpool in room, within about a 2.5 hour drive, for less than $150 a night in the off season. I don't really care which beach, but I'm getting frusterated googling, lol. Anyone have any recomendations?
clamdiggerinn.com Atlantic Beach...oceanfront packages including meals in their great restaurant starting at less than $100...on the weekend!! Checkout isn't until 5/6pm on Sunday
The Holiday Inn Sunspree in Wrightsville has rates for under $150 with a King whirpool room in February, not sure when in the off season you're looking for. They also have an indoor pool. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/wrgnc?rpb=rate&crUrl=/h/d/hi/1/en/rates/wrgnc&ias=y
Ocean Crek in North Myrtle entrance is directly accross from Barefoot Landing. they have condos and suites both on the beach and off the beach that are great. http://www.oceancreek.com/
Prince Resort looks nice, but their beds are in the back of the suite, I like to sleep by the balcony and hear the ocean, ya know? Called ClamDigger, seems really nice, unfortunately they won't take a one night reservation in February. She said it was a 2 night minimum after Jan 31st. Which, if you ask me is dumb, it's still the off season, but whatever... I called the Sunspree yesterday and their rates were much higher than $150. Ocean creek is also a little out of the price range. Great suggestions you guys, please keep them coming.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see the fascination with going to the beach this time of year. Usually too cold to really do anything beach wise. Because it's off season half of the business are usually closed. So what is the fascination? Craig
Honestly, we just want to get away by ourselves for the night, and I want to stay a reasonable distance close to home. I'd rather head to the mountains, but don't want to be 5 hours from the kids. At the beach, we can turn the heat on, open the doors, and drink wine while sitting in the hot tub listening to the ocean. That spells relaxation to me.
it all happened so fast....and I will never forget when you said HS the first time on here....I think we were talking about this same thing.
