"Just Call Me Author" Project Lands Works in Public Library, Notice of Our State Magazine BENSON-- A fourth grade writing project at Benson Elementary School has been featured in the September issue of Our State magazine. Led by Teacher Beth Rogers, the project was a grant submission entitled, "Just Call Me Author," which was submitted to the North Carolina Touchstone Energy cooperatives Bright Ideas education grant program. Students wrote their own books and donated them to the Mary Duncan Public Library in Benson, which is housing them on the Young Authors' Shelf. The shelf features titles such as F is for Family, by Ryan Norris; Welcome to My Home Town: A Book About Benson, by Austin Pope; and The Three Bears 2: The Week After, by Deanna Whitman. A total of 24 books are available on loan from the library.
