I want to take the kids to the beach next weekend for a day trip. Haven't been in years so we're all excited. What's the best beach for day trips?? I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!!
Wrightsville is the closest beach. Carolina beach is a little bit further and they also have the aquarium down at Fort Fisher.
Topsail is less crowded. It takes and extra half hour to get there though. It takes us about 2 1/2 hours to get to Topsail from the McGees Crossroads exit.
we went to kure for the day a few weeks ago and it was wonderful! not too crowded and parked right at the beach.
Carolina is probably the best to suit everyone's needs. Wrightsville is a bit closer though, but not that much. Plus, if you want some good seafood at a decent price you can stop at Something Fishy down near Monkey Junction either going or coming back. Its a great little place to stop by in your leisure beach attire without feeling underdressed.
