Hey guys, Don't know if this has been posted before, but I'm wondering who you guys use for good, reliable, and reasonable prices tires. I need some BAD! Thanks!
Clayton Tire and Muffler is located in both Clayton and Smithfield. Reliable, honest and reasonably priced. Clayton Tire & Muffler, 9641 US Highway 70 W., Clayton, NC, 27520, 919-553-4195. Grace
i don't know if you want to come up near where i work but the Firestone Dealer on Newberne Ave really took great care of me a couple of weeks ago when i had a flat. They came to my office, took the old tire off, replaced it with a new one and only charged me for the tire - i promised them my business from now on - there were really nice and the price was better than what i had paid locally. They also have a great protection plan for the life of the tire.
Just Tires, accross from Lowe's on 42 was good to me. I found cheaper tire prices elsewhere, called Just Tires to cancel tires they had on hold for me and they ended up beating the price.
Glad you had a good experience, the one in Clayton wanted to charge DH over $30 to fix a nail in the tire. Um.................no! We went elsewhere. 8)
This is just my 2 cents but I have had dealings with Just Tires, specifically three different locations and all three times I have trouble with thier tires. Thier proces are good but they tend to get more sets of unmatched tires than any other dealer I have ever seen. I literally went through 5 sets of tires for my truck awhile back before they could find four tires that were round and did not have some sort of defect to them. As for other places, I have had very good luck with Discount Tire recently and they are very reasonalby priced.
Campbell Tire - Off Old Fairgroun I buy my tires at Campbell Tire Service. It is on Old Fairground road.
We got a great deal at Costco they are having a sale through the end of the month. Their price includes mounting, balancing, rotating, tire repair.
I'll have to find out from my sis the name of the place we go to in Benson. They are great and the best price I've ever paid for the quality of tire!
I like Just Tires prices and the 7 days a week service. But in the year that I have been with them that is the only good thing I have to say. I have had my oil change and free tire rotation at 3 different locations and the time it takes is horrible. If not for the free rotation I would not go and will not buy another set of tires from them. I can be the first person there on a Saturday morning and still be there 2 - 3 hours later. The last time I went I had to go back because they didn't even rotate my tires. Without even looking up my history the technician immediatley replied that I did not get the oil change which gives a free rotation. Did I mention, I always askfor the rotation? There was nothing offered to offset the inconvenience of going back for their mistake. Horrible service.
I've used Atlantic Avenue Tires numerous times. They are always courteous and professional. That said, however, I may check out Clayton Tire the next time. When you have three patrons agree on an establishment, I feel more confident about buying from them. I've also been to Perry Brothers in Smithfield before and they did a good job. Now, I do know of a place in Goldsboro that is really good. Bit far out of the way living up in the Clayton/Garner area, but Goldsboro Tire on George Street has been family-owned for many years. They have always treated me good.
We used to always buy our tires at Sam's. As much as I love Sam's Club for everything else, I won't be buying any more tires from them. They could never get them properly balanced, every car I had would have terrible tire vibrations. I got so fed up with the last set, I had them replaced although they still had at least half their life left. Got the replacements from Clayton Tire and my van with well over 135,000 miles rides smooth as silk. We also once had a car that needed tires rated for higher speeds. Apparently tire dealers are not allowed to use lesser rated tires even if you tell them you aren't planning on going over 100 MPH with them. Maybe "Z" rated, can't remember. Anyway, they are prohibitively expensive to the point I would not have bought the car had I realized how high they would be. DH found a website called Tire Rack that save us a couple hundred bucks. They were delivered by Fedex, but then we had to find someone to put them on. That was an experience and I sold that car before I had to go through that again.
I've never bought tires at Clayton Tire, but I had a front end alignment, rotate and balance. They were great. I will definitely use them for my next set of tires.
We got our last set of tires at Johnston's Auto across from the BP station just after 210 spilts off of 70 in Smithfield. Karen
