There's a new scam going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please advise of all friends and family of all ages. The typical targeted group is females, in parking lots at the mall or in a shopping center and it has happened at all different times of the day. a group in a car and sometimes on foot will approach you and ask you a series of questions such as..... 1) Do you like perfume? 2) Do you have a favorite perfume? 3) Are you interested in designer perfume at really cheap prices? or the like.... If you continue with the conversation the give you samples to smell. YOU ARE NOT SMELLING SAMPLES. The samples will make you pass out and they will take your purse or wallet. Fortunately, I don't know anyone this has happened to, but I was approached a week ago returning from work and didn't think anything of until my cousin e-mailed me and warned me about this scam. Sorry this is so long, but wanted to pass this info along.
lol. as a general rule I don't sniff items of people I don't know either. Even if this rumor could possibly be untrue, people still try to sell perfume on the street as a living - It's a good reminder a stranger is a stranger. We should always be aware of our surroundings even in familiar territory. I think I'd rather be alert then have a bad experience.
Sorry everyone this is the actual e-mail I received!!!! (the 1st part anyway) I apologize for any confusion, but still stand by better safe than sorry.
There's not much that you can take one whiff of at it will make you pass out. And if it did make you pass out from one whiff you could easily die from it. And contrary to the movies one whiff of ether or chloroform does not make you pass out. Trust me. I've tried both.
