Big Ed's opening in Garner?

Just saw a thread on another discussion board that Big Ed's is opening a new restaurant in Garner. Please advise details if you have information. Thanks

I don't know who this person is, but I would guess they're talking about the old Las Margaritas/Just Cookin'?

 

Big Ed's signed lease this week. Timber and Hwy 50.

 

I would have thought the old Applebee's Timber & 70. I wonder where at timber & 50, is the Mexican rest. gone?

 

The Mexican restaurant is long gone. For few months recently the space was occupied by a restaurant called Just Cookin, which closed not long ago. That seems the most likely location.

 

Any updates on Big Ed's in Garner. Timber and Hwy 50?

 

I drove by last week and there's work being done inside, but it doesn't look like it's close to opening.

opened April 9. Anyone been? AS good as downtown?

 

I haven't been to the one in downtown Raleigh in years, but I went to the Garner one and loved it. The waffles are HUGE. The meats are plentiful. The interior decorations are really cool. There's an old racing motorcycle and girls' racing gear that the owner's wife used when she was little and raced bikes. Pretty neat.
