If you've never been to Biltmore House in Asheville, now is a great time to go. The decorations for Christmas are beautiful. http://www.biltmore.com/g_christmas.asp
We went there 12/26 3 years ago, and it was beautiful! We had a 4 & 1 yo and they even loved it! It's definitely something to be seen, especially if you love the holidays like I do!
You know I was raised in Weaverville...Right outside of Asheville....Never have been to the Biltmore house. I am wanting to go now and ride around the old neighborhood for a bit. Anyone up for a day trip or an over night? Biltmore has to be beautiful this time of year.
Oh I love the Biltmore! Went once a LONG time ago in February. It was snowing, stayed at a B&B. Oh I wish I could go every year, well maybe every 2 years. Like the place I stayed so much I paid for my mom and dad to go one weekend for their anniversay years ago.
I've lived in NC my whole life and never been to Biltmore either. Day trip could be fun - long day, but who cares!
I have been to the Biltmore House a couple of times and still plan to go back. One of these years I plan to stay there for x-mas.
I know it sounds like alot, but it is worth every cent! I never get tired of going; there is so much to see. You can spend a couple of days and still not absorb it all. There is no other place in the USA like Biltmore. You'll never forget the first time you see the house once you round the final curve onto the estate. You can rent a wireless headset and take a self-guided tour of the house. Take as long as you like. Shuttle buses run all day from the house to the winery, dairy, etc. NOTE: try to avoid the busiest days when they have staggered admission times. The Biltmore Inn is a fantastic place to stay if you can fit it into your budget. Being There - with Peter Sellers was filmed at Biltmore The Godfather - the scene with the Hollywood producer showing off his prize horse in the stables. Those are the stables of Biltmore. The stables have been turned into shops now.
No, no, nothing like that at all. You're in Asheville. Follow Interstate 40 west to Asheville, and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance. Driving time: approximately 4 hours. You will love it!
Oh, thanks! That's a wonderful news to hear, especially after my frightening experience driving to top of Grandfather Mountain!
