Bladder stones anyone?

On Saturday, we had a terrible scare with our 2 year old deaf dalmatian. He had a urinary blockage due to a bladder stone. The vet was able to get the stone flushed back into the bladder with a catheter. The hope is that with a new prescription diet and medicine that the stone might shrink enough for him to pass it. Sadly, it might not work and he coulb block again.
Anyway, my questions are...does anyone who has to purchase prescription pet food know a place that sells it cheaper than the vet? So far, all that I have seen online is the same as the vet charges, once you add the shipping.
Also, does anyone have experience with bladder stones? Any advice or tips?
    Thanks !

I can't answer any of your questions but I really hope your baby gets better.
