    Hi All,

Well in June I'll be visiting my Mom who lives in Jersey and I need to board my cat because he hates strangers. (In the past a friend had watched him and vowed she would never do it again!) Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone had any experience with Clayton Animal Hospital? That is where I take my dog and cat for their vet visits and everyone is always so kind there. I want to make sure he goes somewhere that will really take care of him. This is the first time I'm boarding him so I'm a little scared about the whole thing...our dog will probably come with us or my fiance's sister will watch her so we don't have to worry but the cat is my only concern.

    Thanks!

Boarding experience at Cleveland School Animal Hospital

My husband and I recently boarded our puppy at CAH for almost a week. The staff was very attentive to her, she was well taken care of, and the price was very reasonable. They invited us to view the boarding facilities beforehand. The room was spotless and well outfitted to board animals. We were completely satisfied and highly recommend them.

Oops, sorry! I saw the CAH and didn't realize you were referring to Clayton Animal Hospital. Mea culpa!

We go there for vet visits, but for boarding I would not. Don't get me wrong it a great place and great drs. as we have been going there for years and very very happy with the service they provide, but we have had our pets there a few times after surgery and they smelled really bad and there blanket we sent along with them were covered in urine when we picked them up. Maybe it was because of the surgery I don't know, plus all I can hear in there is barking dogs. We now pay someone around 40 (2 visits a day)bucks a day to come to our house anytime we go out of town. Cats our happier this way, and I just feel better about them being at home. Not sure if that price is good or not but it someone we trust and have been using for several years.

There is another place that just opened about 6 months ago, a boarding facility and they do grooming. It's called Suite Paws, and is on Rogers Lane in Raleigh (just at the 64 bypass off of 440). I stopped by there yesterrday and they charge $18/night for cats and have a very clean looking and clean smelling facility. Each unit in the "cattery" has its own multi-level condo, with a doorway to a secluded litter area so they have privacy in the litter box. The owner was there and she seemed very nice and to genuinely care about the health and well-being of animals in their care. They have a special air handling system, etc.
