Does anyone know if we're still under a boil water advisory?

I tried to find the answer to your question, with no luck. I thought there was a news article on WRAL.com, but I can't find it now. So then I tried the Jo Co web site - it has been updated and is very pretty - http://www.co.johnston.nc.us/index.cfm - but I could not find any information there, either! Maybe you could e-mail the head of the Public Utilities dept., there was a link for that. I did not do that because I don't have county water, thankfully, I have a well.

This morning on the news they said to boil water, but I didn't catch for how long, sorry! Check out ABC11, that's where I heard it.

It's 3:30 & I just called the utility dept. The guy said yes we are to still boil our water until further notice. He said we will receive another automated phone call to inform us of when the boil is lifted. He said it'll also be on the news.

Carol-of-the-licking-kitten, can you post something here when you get the call? I'd greatly appreciate it! I dont always trust the news to cover Johnston County.

I don't think this affects me. If I read it correctly, it's the other side of Cornwallis, where Wildwood Church, Carrington Place S/D, and New Bethel is, right?

Correct!! Jen! It's from Cornwallis @ 42 toward Garner to the Wake County line. Subdivisions on Cornwallis in this section and NEw Bethel & Winston Roads.

I wasn't suire but how far down does the boil water take effect? I am over by Polenta and Indian Camp. Been boiling water here just to be on the safe side. Just a little shell shock from all the boil water news on TV and in the paper lately.

Cool - was just searching the internet, after searching ABC11 and WRAL's website and turning up absolutely NOTHING ... using google, I finally found a link to the original WRAL story ...

    http://www.wral.com/news/9875564/detail.html?rss=ral&psp=news

But of course, it wasnt updated since yesterday.

I love how we tend not to exist, in the news ...

Thanks for the update, kitten-licking-Carol! (Can you tell I love that Avatar??)
