SELMA-- The Four Oaks Middle School Battle of the Books team that won a chance to compete against 12 districts in the region placed number four-- in the top third-- in the Regional Battle of the Books competition held on Monday, April 3. The team, comprised of Edward Woodall, Sara Diaz, Linaka Norman, Zach Behrend, Ercilia Hernandez, Lindsey Connell, Annie Thornton, and Chase Johnson, were coached by teachers Debra Westbrook and Angie Pierce. The competition tested the students' knowledge of the books they had read in preparation for the fact-retention battle. The event was held in the Selma Elementary School auditorium.
