So tonight I decide that I want something other than pizza or a burger, and decide to head over to Brass Grill for a takeout order even though I know traditionally, they are slower than molasses. To their credit, there were only two waitress, who were sharing one pen, and running like wild chickens with their heads cut off. Those poor girls were really trying. We waited at least 25 minutes for our to-go order, which consisted of the cajun ribeye sandwich with fries, the cheese tortoleni (sp) with mushroom and bacon with a caesar side salad, and the kids angel hair pasta with alfredo. When I got home, I realized that I'd been shorted the toasted garlic bread that typically comes with the pasta. Then I realized that the fries were missing, and then I realized that the size of the tortoleni order (which is the only thing I ever order from BG) was half the size it normally was. The kids pasta was not even a full cup, but we'd never ordered that before so I have nothing to compare it to. I called up there and identified myself (as the nice pregnant lady who gave those poor girls an extra pen) and told the waitress the problem. She gave the phone to the manager who wanted to argue with me about the portion size of my tortoleni, he told me it was pre-measured and there was no way that I was shorted. I tried to explain to him that it was the only dish I ever ordered, and that it was half the size of normal, but he insisted I was wrong. He did however offer to replace the fries, but I explained that it was rainy and nasty and I was 9 months pregnant and not willing to come back up there for some french fries. So he told me to ask for him the next time we came, and he'd make it up to me, the fries. Sorry, but I paid $26 for a dinner that was really bad. MM had to make a sandwich in addtion to her pasta in order to have a full meal, and mine wasn't full to start with, not even counting DH's missing fries. I really am not happy with the level of service we rec'd or the quality of food. We won't be back. Just thought I'd pass along my experience so someone else doesn't have to deal with what I did.
Did I read on here somewhere that they have just recently changed owners/managers? I came close to eating there the other night. Might wait.
Funny you should mention this... My mom and I went there last night after the church preschool's Christmas program and had a not-so-good experience. The waitress was GREAT so she was tipped well despite everything else! My meal was good (gyro platter) though a bit overpriced. My mom's burger was burnt and the bun was not edible due to being "nuked" too long. We ended up sharing my meal after she ate her side salad. In their defense, management only charged her for her salad and gave her a $10 gift certificate. She says she doubts she will use it because she is not so sure she will be back. On a happy not, mom and I went to American Hero today and had an awesome meal with leftovers for around $14.
We ate there a couple weeks ago right after they changed owners and had pretty much the same experience- only we dined in, rather than took-out. Never got bread, slow service, small order of pasta- my daughter and I used to share an order of pasta, but the portion was too small to share. Not going back either- too many other choices out there!
We've tried it several times, though not recently I will say, but we've never had good luck there. :?
Hey Pirate Girl we were at the table across from you. My food wasnt all that good either. I ordered a blackened salmon house salad and the salmon wasnt cooked all the way through. My daughter's fries were cold. Not sure if I will be back there any time soon.
When I want to pig out I go to the Golden Corral, they always have plenty to eat or Neptunes,,,To the ladies at Neptunes,,Merry Christmas
I generally hit the ice cream on the way out so I am usually leaving in a hurry. Come on ice cream!
We carried out BG recently, since the "new management." The food was definitely not as good and the portion size for sure did change. Not to mention, two sandwiches cost darn near $20. Ouch!
le wrote Damn,I believe Frugalmomoftwo could buy a weeks grocerys with that amount, and I'm not joking
Well...... you are close. I spent $26 last week on groceries. 8) Jen - I recommend Fat Guys Deli. Hubby and I had sandwiches there on Monday. They were very good and the employees were very nice. Price was reasonable, good service, good menu. We will definitely go back there again.
Horrible since the owners chagned. Remember the other thread? my mahi mahi was served RAW. and everything was cold as heck. Tried em twice. NEVER AGAIN.
tried them last night after church, and I can say that the new owners are going to be in big trouble soon if this is how they run it. Was told by the cook to go sit down and some one would bring us a menu, after about five minutes of sitting I went and took a menu from up front. we as a family figured out what we were going to order before the girl taking our order even came to see if we wanted something to drink. got all the ordering done the girl brings drinks and then our salads. the salad they gave to my wife was wilted and in some spots rotten. then when the food came they sent out the wrong stuff to my son (5yo) left him some fries to eat while he waited for his food. our food was luke warm at best and my wife had gotten a wrap which was made with even more bad lettuce. WILL NOT GO BACK
