I was thinking about buying a breadmaker and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on them. I'm not going to go broke buying one. Probably just one from Wal-Mart. So, if anyone has one and has some reviews they'd like to share, I'd love to hear them!! Thanks!
Ever notice how many breadmakers there are at yard sales and thrift stores??? Some of them even new in boxes or used once?? I LOVE fresh bread, but for the cost of ingredients to make 1 loaf of good bread in your breadmaker- you could just buy it from a bakery. Then you have to clean up the breadmaker after you're done. If you really want to try one, ask around - I'm sure one of your friends/neighbors/relatives is bound to have one in their closet that they'd be glad to GIVE you!! That way, if you try it and don't like it- you're not out any $$$> Just my opinion. Bring me some bread if you make some!!!! Rig
There's one advantage to the breadmaker or home-baked bread. If you love the smell of hot, fresh, baking bread, its wonderful! Also, if you like specialty breads. That said, however, I bought my wife one several years ago and we use it maybe twice a year...otherwise its another appliance shoved in the cabinet. I'd say its something nice to buy someone for a gift or buy for yourself if you've got a little extra money such as from a monetary gift. Our machine is a Sunbeam, BTW.
I have a toastmaster breadbox. Works great, I just don't use it that often anymore. Maybe I'll crank it back up during the cold month.
We LOVE our bread machine. Made two loves this weekend alone, one Adkins and one sweet bread. I cheat and buy the boxed mix sometimes. It smells so good. I guess I could make it in the oven, but never tried. My husband eats the fresh bread like dessert. You probaby could get one at Good Will!!
