Where can I find big buckets or containers? For CHEAP or better yet, free. We can't do our big garden yet this year. However, we've been planting tomatoes and such in containers and doing well w/ that. I know many restaurants just toss their big huge buckets out. Anyone know where I can get some? I know they have new ones at Lowes and things but it would be way too expensive. We need at least 10. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I get my 5 - 6 gallon buckets off of residential construction sites after the sheet rock guys get done. I use my power washer to get the sheet rock mud residue out and the buckets look brand new. I've never bought a bucket that I can remember.

Be sure to ask permission from the owner/builder.

If you go this route, see if you can get the sheet rock guys to just sit the buckets out for you and not throw them in the trash bin that's usually on sight.

Too many boards with nails, etc. You don't want to get injured.
