What exactly does a burning ban mean? Can you give us a link to the guidelines? I mean if I want to cook a pig on the ground in my backyard, does the ban prevent this?

i think it depends on the level of the ban (ie advisory vs warning, etc.), but they can outlaw campfires and cooking fires also i believe.

And it starts today? I just called the sheriff's dept yesterday and reported somebody burning trash in their yard. It was NOT wood, it was sickening smell. I saw the smoke on my way to the store, by the time I got back it had wafted down to my house (almost a mile). Blech!

My understanding of the JOCO ordinances is that yard debris is the only debris that can be burned.
