How come when rich kids set fire to stuff it's a "time honored tradition", but when poor kids do it it's a "riot"?
I was thinking that too. I guess if it's a private school it's OK to burn the place down, but if it's a public school -or public property- that's getting torched then I'm underwriting their fun and I don't really like that much.
because at the rich school, they take the trouble IN ADVANCE to build things for the purpose of being burnt, to consult with local authorities about how to have a bonfire/large gathering for celebration safely and arrange for police fire and rescue presence, properly apply for and obtain a legal burning permit to do so, and maintain a safe and open area in which to have their fire, and then keep the party contained to a previously agreed upon area that has little or no impact on the surrounding community... ...and all of that is just in case they want to have a fire
