I am planning on going to Busch Gardens/Williamsburg this week and I was looking at taking the ferry across the James River near Jamestown. Has anyone on here ever done this? If you have what is the best scenic route? Should I take Hwy 40 in Virginia or Hwy 10 in Virginia for the best scenery.
    Thanks in advance.

When I took the ferry in the past I couldn't get over all the dead fish floating everywhere. Maybe that problem is gone now though.

The problem we found with this route was timing it just right to catch the ferry. If I remember correctly, they have one leaving every 30 minutes but its a beautiful area. Another thing to remember, this back way has some curvy roads and anyone that gets car sick is likely to, otherwise its a beautiful drive but takes much longer, unless time is not a factor for your trip.
    Have fun.
