One couple from western NC lined up Monday for Thursday grand opening. More than 3,000 were in parking lot for opening. Lot full. Dude that cut ribbon with bow and arrow hit it dead on. No customers injured. Were you there? http://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/community/garner-cleveland-record/article18671409.html
Went last night around 6, it was packed. The parking lot barely had any spots available, and they were using a shuttle and some overflow parking down the road. Place was pretty amazing inside though.
We went today at noon. Parking lot was full but you could find a space here and there. We liked the store and product selection, and my husband is excited to buy some gear, but as far as the overall store goes in terms of taking the kids and walking around for the experience, I like the Bass Pro Shop in Concord better.
Per the Bass Pro Shops Wiki page North Carolina Concord 106,000 sq ft[39] 1999 North Carolina Cary Sportsman's Center 105,000 sq ft[80] 2013 The one in Concord is only 1000 sf bigger.
I've been to the one in Richmond, now that one is bigger, almost 50% at 150,000 sq ft. I want to check out that huge one they are finishing up in Memphis, 500,000+ sq ft!
Bass Pro in Memphis is taking over the Pyramid. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...gId=10051&langId=-1&appID=94&storeID=61&tab=3
i was very disappointed in cabelas. I have been to the one in CT many times and this is much smaller and doesn't have nearly the equipment.
For some reason BPS get really really upset when you try out fishing gear in that tank of test fish they have ........
Stopped in today after a visit to Raleigh, nice store, hope to never be back, wife dropped over $100 on ammo!
Went today for the first time. I thought that the employees over a Dick's Sporting Goods were shaking their boots the whole time Cabela's was being built. I guess no need, I don't know how anyone can afford anything there. The place is not for me. Perhaps my priorities in my spending lie elsewhere.
