Can You Get This Right?

    Got this a little bit ago and it made me scratch my head.:jester:

    Very tricky arithmetic! Note: This must be done in your head only .
    Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it..
    Take 1000 and add 40 to it.. Now add another 1000. Now add 30.
    Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000 Now add 10. What is the total?
















    Did you get 5000 ?
    The correct answer is actually 4100.
    If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator!

    I might be missing something but both in my head and on a calculator I get 3,100.

    But for me "It" = "0"

    I edited again. I had trouble with the font and left off the first 1000. :oops:

    I got it. Usually I don't, but I knew there had to be a trick so I actually concentrated.
