Years ago, I heard a radio commerical by a homebuilder..and the voice over said, comically, a sensible house has as many bathrooms as the number of people living in it.
When an associate of mine was building his "dream house" several years ago he had the typical master suite, and guest suite but had also added three bedrooms for his grown daughters in one wing. He included two bathrooms for the bedrooms because he thought that was sufficient. There was also a half bath directly downstairs in the billiard/family room and another in the basement of that section. I halfway joked (I really would have for that size house at the time) that he should add a third bathroom because they were all girls and they could all be visiting at the same time given the various family holiday vacations. Fast forward a few years and he is trying to sell his dream house to build another on the lake and the biggest snag is the lack of bathrooms for a house in that price range. Now this was just over a couple of years ago so it could be even more of a problem now. And he did not sell the house either .....
