Can you save or forward text messages?

I have several text messages on my phone that I may need for future reference and would like to have a printed copy. Is there a way to save them to my computer with the USB cable or forward them to my e-mail address?

I have a Samsung Instinct S30 if it matters...

In my case, with the new Samsung Galaxy, if I hold my finger on the text message that I want to copy a menu pops up. There is an option to forward, I just tested it and I was able to enter my email address, then press send and I got it on my email 2 seconds later.

There is also an option to Copy message text, it copies it to the "clipboard". But I haven't found where that is or how I can "paste" it off of wherever it went to.

I have my email as a separate contact in my phone just for that purpose...to forward texts and or multimedia messages that I want to keep to my email account. Just forward as you would to any other contact.
