Smithfield, NC -- The Johnston County Public Health Department regrets that the walk-in flu clinic scheduled for October 27th from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. has been cancelled. The County has temporarily exhausted its supply of both the seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines. Once the Public Health Department receives additional supplies we will notify the news media and the clinics will resume operation as scheduled. While we are currently experiencing a shortage of vaccines, we anticipate receiving a sufficient supply in the coming weeks to meet the needs of our citizens. For more information about H1N1 and the seasonal flu, please visit our new website at www.johnstonnc.com/flu or you may contact the Johnston County H1N1 Pandemic Hotline at 919.989.5600.
We heard some rumors while in line Wednesday that they would run out. Actually, we had one lady tell us outside upon arrival that they would run out before we could make it back there. They didn't, but I heard then that there supplies were running low once we got back there. We also heard that there may be a pending shortage of supplies for the next several weeks, but that certainly isn't something that I can confirm other than he said/she said.
