Both of my sons, as well as several other boys from our community, will be attending the Boy Scout National Jamboree at the end of this month. These boys are part of "Subcamp 17" (with thousands of boys attending, different regions are divided into "subcamps"), which is parts of Virginia and North Carolina. There are 36 boys going from Tuscarora Council (Johnston, Duplin, Sampson, and Wayne counties).

As a part of the Southern Region's food drive for Carolina Country, Subcamp 17 will conduct a contest to recognize the unit that brings the most food by weight. Units are asked to securely box and tape the cans donated, with unit number and kind of items in each box. (Our sub camp has been asked to collect canned pasta items). The winning unit will be appropriately rewarded.

If anyone would like to donate a can or two of CANNED PASTA for this event, please PM me. Thanks!

A little off topic--but if you ever want to win a food drive based on weight--Bring gallons of bottled water--8 lbs each:lol:
