It's a Scoop Free litter box using the crystals, with cartridges you change every 10 days to a month depending on usage. The boss's wife just got one and loves it so far. Anyone else? I hate scooping and the Littermaid was a piece of junk! It's kinda spendy though!

I looked at that when I trashed the most recent LitterMaid we had... the refill trays are about $15/ea and with 8 cats... I can't imagine I would get more than a few days out of a cartridge, and that would be in addition to the regular litter boxes usage. We bought a Booda-Dome though.. and it seems to working well. As much time as we spent trying to keep the LitterMaid unjammed, we spend less time just emptying a regular litter box. The original LitterMaid we had 6 years ago was great, I hate they had to "un-improve" on it in the newer models. I'm sure it was probably outsourced to China..

Yeah, I know what you mean about the Littermaid. Mine lasted about a month. GRRR!!! Money down the toilet!! I've only got two cats and am thinking this might make my life easier, just not sure about the $$ for it either. Might wait and see how the boss likes theirs after a while. Right now they love the thing though, they have two elderly Siamese who had no problems adjusting to it whatsoever.

That is accually kind of cool..hmmm might have to look into that..I spend about 16 bucks a month on kitty litter and with two cats I would still have to spend about that much anyways on the cartridges..it's a thought.

Petsmart has them for $140. I just can't believe that it costs more than the Littermaid, which seems like there is more to it than this. But you can get the hood to go with it off the PetSmart website for $1, cheaper than the LitterMaid tent, thats for sure!

oh I would need the hood for sure, my male cat is a mess. But his urin is very strong and I can't stand it, so it would be nice to know if this works or not.

I have 3 cats, and tried the littermaid but one boy wouldn't use it. He found it both frightening and repulsive, and chose to use my couch cushion instead. Nice. I have tried so many things it's ridiculous, and always go back to the traditional poop scooping because somebody always rebels.
