What service does everyone have?? After paying for a nextel forever and using all of 3 minutes on the 2 way last month, I think I need something new.

If you're changing services and are getting new phones, I'm in the market for Motorola i730 for nextel use...and I have two LG AX5000 phones, with 2 ac chargers, i car charger for sale or swap (breifly with Altel, came back to Nextel) PM me if interested.

Any good alltell dealers around here?? They have the phone I want. Now if I can just figure out how nextel is going to try to screw me over this time!

I like the Alltel store in Garner on Timber Drive beside the Eckard Drugs (Or some chain drug store) and Jersy Mikes.

I have sprint/nextel now and I'm just tired of it. I never agreed to a contract and apparently they signed me up for one so now I have to either wait until June or pay the $200 cancellation fee. Some guy named Manny is seriously about to get cussed out at sprint right now. Who else has sprint and is ready to lose it on them?!?!

Ok I finally hung up with Sprint. EVERY month they turn our phones off and then DH sits on the phone for over an hr and they turn it back on. We were getting bills that said $0 due and even online said that. We had some credits due to us. Then all of a sudden 2 weeks ago they said we owe $800. DH made some payment and then made payment arrangements. Well today our phones got turned off again. First I was told there was no payment made 2 weeks ago. I was staring right at my bank invoice. It was made. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor. 4 times they guy asked me for my confirmation number and 4 times I told him it is at home on my computer. Then he said I can call you when you get home. UMMMM DUH MY PHONE IS TURNED OFF!!!!!!!!!! Then I asked him where is he located..........get ready for this. Philipines (sp?) Then he asks if there is anything else ummm yeah how about a new ringer..........duh no phone service. Then the SOB tells me to have a good day.
I hung up with him and called back. Yeah I am talking to a lady in Charlotte. They are asking for security questions and the number on the back of my phone. Then after an hr with her and some hope she goes I can't help you. So I am done. Got a hold of DH who is out of town. And he was told $600 or basically f off!
So long story short - I am done with sprint.

I like the direct connect with nextel b/c everyone I need to talk to has a nextel. But I refuse to re-up my contract with Sprint together with nextel  (I say in my best telemarketer voice)

As a matter of fact, a sales rep was calling me everyday there for a while asking me if I wanted a new phone or a new phone line for free no less. I told them no thank you over and over. Then finally I told the last poor fella, and bless his heart he caught it, before he could barely start with his sales pitch I said: LOOK! I am NOT buying another phone from you, I am NOT adding another line, I do not care what type of promotions you have to save me a dollar a month if I sign another 2 year contract with you and when you call tomorrow the answer will still be the same! Not no but hell no, did you get it this time?...30 sec pause... yes ma'am, you have a good day.
I think that poor guy is sitting somewhere in India or South Africa still crying.

Now what happened not even a week after I chewed that poor little fella out. My phone broke. Karma. Did I buy a new phone... nope. Craigslist.8)

Same here - since '96. Also. We had the same $29.99 plan up until last year when we got a new phone and had to sign a new contract.

Before DH I had a nextel. Everyone I know has one. Then I got on DH's before he was DH phone plan with sprint. Biggest mistake of my life. The phone! Then we switched to Nextel but it wasn't worth the radio anymore so went back to sprint. Biggest mistake of my life.

I have Alltel and have liked the Alltel store next to Starbucks in Clayton. (Across the street from Wal-Mart).

Sprint sucks no matter how you slice it. Their service sucks, their customer (no)service sucks.........they just plain suck.

I have SunCom and I love it simply because of the UnPlan. Coverage is decent but not the best. Hey...it's an all digital network...what do you expect. T-Mobile just put the money down on them so by Jeanuary, SunCom is gone and T-Mobile is in. I still keep my UnPlan, though.

For the best coverage.....Alltel or Verizon but leaning more towards Alltel. Verizon may boast the largest network but Alltel still seems to have better reception in more places.

There are two Alltel places around here. One in Clayton directly across from Wal-Mart next to Starbucks and one on Timber drive near the drug store (as previously stated).

Alltel & Verizon are about the best that I have used in 15 years of traveling round NC (I have tried almost all but SunCom)...and none of the annoying beeps of Nextel. Verizon is my choice right now, but it is really dependent on where you spend most of your time (I have heard Alltel is better in our area, but I get an overall better coverage through the state with Verizon).
