Anyone been yet? Saw it today coming home. Occupying the old Tater's locations.

It is located on Cleveland School Road across from DR Wells on the left hand side. They were to open today at 11:00 I think it was..

DH says it is a huge improvement from Tater's, but he had to wait about 15mins for his food. Hopefully this should improve. He loved the cut potatoes and said they were delicious! cant wait to try it:lol:

I've gotten to know Charlie a little bit as he rents a storage unit from me. My wife stopped in to see him yesterday before he opened and said he was a nervous wreck.
He's one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of knowing and I wish him much success.

  7. I went past it last night and the parking lot was packed

So is this like a burger place, southern bbq place or both, or none of the above?

I believe I remember Charlie telling me it was going to be primarily chicken and pork BBQ and all the fixin's. He showed me a menu early last week but I can't remember the details.
He's supposed to come see me this week and bring me some menus (but he may be busier than he expected). I'll fill y'all in when I get them.

BTW: He cooks his own butts and shoulders and makes his own sauce. MMmmmmmmm!!

Went for lunch today, the place was packed. No where to sit, but very fast today. I ordered, paid, got my drink and my name was being called. The BBQ chicken was awesome. His sauce his truly finger licken good. Will def. be a regular. Only negative is that there was no enough tables to sit at but thats a good problem to have I guess.

DH and I went over for lunch today after 1:30 and didn't have a long wait and there were plenty of tables. BBQ is way better then Smithfield and the hushpuppies are delicious. Chicken salad is creamy, crunchy and a little sweet. Hope to make this a regular place.
Looks like there will be something moving in next to Charley's and Grand Street Pizza, another mom and pop resturant we hope. It would be nice to have a whole row of choices and never have to go up to 42, especially with all of the new constuction (Walmart and apartments)

We were there last night for about an hour. Very little business. Menu has pulled pork barbecue, baby back ribs, barbecue chicken and chicken fingers. These 4 entrees plus vegetables. The barbecue chicken is not as good as Stephensons. Pulled pork was very lean. The barbecue sauce on the pulled pork was to vinegary. The sauce on the barbecue chicken tasted the same as the pulled pork barbecue sauce.
Charlie and his staff are very friendly and certainly want to please the customer. I will return. The others in my party probably will not return. I want to try the baby back ribs.
