My sister has been looking for a long hair chihuahua that doesn't cost a arm and a leg. Anyone out there know of great local breeders? Her computer is down and out lol, so I'm as usual helping in the search. Sheri
There is one local breeder, whom I have heard third or fourth hand, that is reputable and really respects the breed. I have been told by people I trust that her dogs live very well and are kept in great condition and are loved family members. I haven't met this breeder, am unaware of their prices, but passing you the info ---if you go out there, let me know what you think. They are in Willow Springs and have LH puppies available now. http://www.tidbitpups.com/index.html I'm an advocate of adopting - saving a life. . .there are many a pure breed dog, from pups, to young adults, to mature dogs as well as seniors, who are given up each and every day. I have had many experiences in adopting dogs and cats from the age of 3 1/2 months right on up to 15 years of age, and I can promise you, they bond with you regardless of their age. The last three are foster/adoption/rescue groups that I have had positive personal experiences dealing with. You can also contact local shelters - SPCA Wake - will allow you to go down and fill out an application and be pre-approved for adoption and they put on a wish list - when the breed that you are looking for comes in, they will contact you and arrange for you to meet that dog. While it may take a few weeks - to a few months to hook up with the dog of your dreams, it's well worth the wait and that dog will thank you for it 100 fold. http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/postit/ncregion.htm http://search.petfinder.com/search/...1&breed=Chihuahua&animal=Dog&age=young&size=S None at the moment - but she gets many pure breed dogs - wouldn't hurt to contact Molly and mention what you are looking for. http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/NC301.html No Chiahuauas at the moment, but she only rescues small breeds - it would not hurt to contact Michele and tell her what you're looking for http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/NC115.html This group hears about A LOT of dogs available daily! Contact them and let them know what you are looking for http://www.anewleashonlifedogrescue.org/
I agree with the adopting part, I don't know what she is going to do..but she has done a alot of adopting as well in the past too. I have looked at her web site, and I did get a email back, hers are 950 and up. I'm done looking for more, gave her what I found yesterday lol. Well I went and done it again myself, I adopted to surgar gliders last night, this is the third home and I can't get over just how friendly they were right off the back, this is a mom and dad, and they have already had 2 babies in 2 yrs, I might go ahead and get the vet to fix the daddy, I didn't get them for babies. Been three yrs since I had mine, so I'm all excited again. One of my pugs didn't care for them at all, and the cats just sit and watch them, they are good with the birds, so I wasn't to worried about the cats. I just can't get over how large the cage is, I got so much more room to put so much more toys and hiding places for them. ok this is way off subject, but time to cover them up to they can get some good sleep today. Thanks for the info ZOO Sheri
