    Hi Guys,
Can anyone recommend a good child Dentist and Orthodontist?
I have a very skittish (sp?)
    8 year old boy
    with chipmunk teeth.
His current dentist is in Raleigh, and that is getting hard to get him
there with one car between my hubby and me.
    So local is preferable.
His current dentist is kinda rough, an scares him.
The LAST thing I want is for him to be scared of the dentist already.
    Thanks for any help.
    BTW..he is on Medicaid.
    Thanks.

We use doc's Parrish and Pretzer in Garner.... my now 10 year old was terrified as a little one and they did great with him. I know they take medicaid. They are near White Oak, so it isnt really really close, but not too bad.

I take my 4.5 and 6 year olds to Dr. Dan Howell in Cary. He was recommended by Dr. R's office. He and his staff are wonderful with the children and welcomes the parent to be with the child for appointments. The only down side is we have to file our own insurance. With our insuracne we usually get reimbursed within two weeks and the process has been hassle free.

    Dr.Dan's # 467-0635

I take my kids to Dr. Riccobene's office @ 40/42. His staff is unbelieveable wonderful. I had both my kids there for their cleaning today (daughter is 3, son is 6). They were so kid friendly! And, so very patient!

The dentist came in to examine my son's mouth pretty thoroughly to see how his teeth and jaw would develop.

You might want to check about medicaid. My daughter is on medicaid, and they did take her at the 40/42 office (normally they take medicaid patients in the Smithfield location.)[/u]

Medicad? for dentist? did not know that. I had dental insurance and still paid for braces out of my pocket, sometimes insurance does not cover cosmetics.

Parrish and Pretzer in Garner at White Oak are awesome!!
Both my boys actually like going to the dentist.
My oldest also goes to the orthodontist in the same office - love them!!

Braces are not necessarily cosmetic......, I've had them twice and the second time it was definately not vanity!
