ok so I have not been to Chops in about two years. Never went back due to service & food. I have got to you all we went tonight for dinner. I am very impressed. We went there because of the article written by the Garner Citizen. I trust his review. The service was unreal. Tommy was our server HE WAS GREAT!!! The food was wonderful. Prime Rib & the Filet WOW. Cooked perfect & everything tasted great. I pushed the limit by having dessert but I could not resist the tower cheesecake/icecream. It was worth the time & the money. I am glad the Garner Citizen did a review on this place because now I have somewhere to go local on Wednesday night. We will go back again that is for sure. by the way it was Prime Rib night.Gotta say that was the best Prime Rib I have ever had!! What a cozy place to I did not remember that.
we've been their several times and can't say we've ever had a bad experience we've always had good service and the food has always hit the spot.
thanks for the review, I hadn't been in a couple of years because of overpricing and poor service. I might have to give them another look.
there home made salad dressings are the best!!!!!! And if you check out there lunch menu it is sooooo resonable.
yes Wed & Friday I think it said was Prime Rib night I had the 12oz (i was very hunry) I paid 22.95 I had the end cut to my favorite piece. I loved it. They have a brunch special for 12.95 on Sunday-I will have to try that
$22.95 is a "special", sounds e"special"ly over-priced. McKinleys does a prime rib special on Friday nights for $13.95, and I think theirs is really good.
Just so everyone knows, the prices have not changed. But everything there is made from scratch with some extra tlc, and the dry aging process is expensive to do. If want to try them on a easy budget, try them for lunch. You will not be disappointed.
i think for the quality of food you are getting the prices are on point. we've been their for dinner and have never left dissatisfied and tried the brunch once. i enjoyed but my dh said he wasn't crazy about it. maybe i can convince him to go this sunday for brunch.
Well DH and I won't be going back there, ever. He had ordered a ribeye, and after he said it tasted funny, I tried a bite and it was rancid tasting. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she insisted it was the "dry-aging" process. If dry-aging tastes like rotten meat, they can keep it.
I think the prices are right in line since they age their own meat. You would pay the same thing in Raleigh. Now you won't have to drive. I would just rather support local business here in JOCO. I really do not want to travel that far. I just wanted people to know we went because of the outstanding review that was written & to us it was. My husband grew up eating their own cattle(raised on a farm). He said it was the best cut of meat by far. He is a meat & potatoe kind of guy. For him to say that as well I know he was impressed.
dry aged beef is definitely an aquired taste, one I love actually. To me, that's what beef is supposed to taste like. They have some of the best appetizers there, the roasted cheese is to die for. I am glad to see some positive reviews too. We've always loved it there, always had outstanding food and service (for years), no matter what.
