Portions of the radio message referenced above by Dr. Tony Evans
"...verse 1 wants you to know... You can't discuss government without discussing God. And the reason why, he (Paul) says, is because... government is a Divine institution. Now, the problem is, the people don't want the Divine in the institution.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

The government's job is to keep evil in check so that good can flourish. ... The question on the floor is - how will the government know what is good versus what is evil?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

The government needs the church. The reason why the government needs the church is to inform it about what God thinks about a matter. There is a separation between church and state, they are two totally separate institutions. But there is no separation between religion and government, because the goal of government is to reflect or mirror the rule of God. And if the goal of government is to mirror the rule of God you can't separate God from government, although you can separate institutions of church and state. So you don't merge church and state, but what you do is inform the state of what God thinks, so that the state can make decisions that God will agree with so that the citizens can benefit from the blessing of God, that they will lose if they vote against God, even if it's the majority doing it. See you have to understand, this thing is tied to God, it's not just who you vote for - like the solutions to the American problems are going to land on Air Force One - that is not going to happen. ...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    :hurray:Amen! Preach it brother!

Look very closely at the bottom of my 1st post. You might need to highlight it to see it. ;)

What he's saying is he believes in separation of church and state but not of government and God, because God IS government! Listen to the message.

    ^ Heeheehee.

Really, the bulk of the message is that it doesn't matter WHO we elect to lead our government if our government doesn't care what God thinks. Dr. Evans is merely helping us understand why our economy is on the brink of collapsing, and why our crime rates are so high, etc.... it's because WE as a country won't submit to God. We, as in the majority of Americans, want Him out of our lives. We don't want to let Him tell us what is good and bad for us. WE are the problem with this country because of the leaders that WE have chosen. The ones that allowed the evil of abortion to become legal, etc.

Just listen to the message people, it's important, because if we elect someone who promotes more evil, our society will pay even more.
